    Exteriors

    When it comes to the exterior looks and styling, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga stands strong as a clean winner is every aspect. The Renault Lodgy looks like a big-old daddy which looks like a conventional MPV or big-family car to be precise. The headlights, front-grille, tail-lamps, bumpers, all are placed cleanly and have nothing to be complained for. However, the Maruti Suzuki brings everything with a spark. The Ertiga boasts a sporty design, which would attract buyers of all ages. It looks fresh, sporty and dynamic. And hence, it looks better than the Lodgy.

    Interiors



    When it’s about the interiors, we feel that the both Renault Lodgy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga score same points. For many, the Ertiga would still seem a better choice here too, and we won’t call them wrong. What we liked about the Renault Lodgy interiors is its pleasant ambience. The use of light colors, low dash and large glass makes the interior airy and spacious. The comfort level is good. However, the fit and finish of the inside is better on Ertiga than on Lodgy.

    The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga scores full marks in terms of cabin quality, fit and finish. The dashboard layout looks appealing and up market. The doors open wide, a blessing for old and fat passengers. The middle and third row seats are very comfortable and convenient, somewhat better than the Renault Lodgy. There is enough of space here and the seating position, knee room, thigh support is great.

    Safety Features

    For safety, both Renault Lodgy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga come fitted with a lot of similar safety features. These include rear windscreen defogger, washer and wiper, ABS with EBD, driver and front passenger airbags, brake assist, seatbelt warning, immobiliser, keyless entry and more.

    Engine

    The Renault Lodgy is available only in diesel engine option, and there is no petrol variant available. However, one can either choose the less powered 85bhp or the boosted 110bhp diesel engine for his/her Lodgy. This means that there are two diesel engine options available with the Lodgy MPV. On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available with Maruti’s trusted petrol and diesel engine options.
